What To Do Before Your First Cryotherapy Treatment

You’ve booked your first Cryotherapy Treatment, or maybe you’re still on the fence. After all, it seems pretty chilly. But don’t be afraid. Cryotherapy has many benefits. It is an excellent treatment for sore, aching muscles, depression, weight loss, migraine headaches, and so much more. It can even improve your game, whether you golf, swim, or play another sport.

But before you step into that Cryotherapy Chamber, here are a few tips for getting the most out of your Cryotherapy Treatment at Cinzia Spa in Myrtle Beach.

Check With Your Doctor

First and foremost, if you want to undergo Cryotherapy Treatment, we recommend you check with your doctor first. If you have any medical conditions such as Raynaud’s Syndrome, you may not be able to use the Cryotherapy chamber. Pregnant women are also not advised to undergo Cryotherapy Treatment.

If you have no current medical issues, you should be good to go, but checking with your physician first can’t hurt.

Drink Plenty of Water

As with most treatments, we recommend staying hydrated before your Cryotherapy Treatment- but not just the first treatment, every treatment. This will help your muscles relax and your Cryotherapy Treatment work more efficiently.

Make Sure Your Skin Is Dry

If you have been working out or have showered prior to your treatment, make sure your hair and body are completely dry before stepping into the Cryotherapy Chamber.

Remove Metals

Remove all metal jewelry, or cover piercings with tape, and do not wear clothing with metal, such as a bra with a metal underwire.

Don’t Panic

If you are claustrophobic, there’s nothing to worry about in our Cryotherapy Chamber, as your head will not be in the chamber, so you will be able to see out of it. You will also have a small amount of room to fidget and move around in the chamber if needed. It is actually recommended that you fidget a bit to keep the muscles loose and keep warm. If you do get scared, the treatment doesn’t last long, but you can ask to end it at any time if you’d like.

The More Treatments, The Merrier

While one Cryotherapy Treatment may feel great, a series of Cryotherapy Treatments is recommended for best results, so prepare for a truly invigorating experience, and for the possibility of wanting more!
